Turnitin
The TurnItIn lesson seems to be an extremely beneficial application for teachers as well as students. This would be something that once I was in my very own classroom setting that I would use in a middle or high school. TurnItIn allows professors as well as teacher to check papers for plagiarism, which can help students to be honest as well as help make sure that other students work is not stolen or borrowed from to assist in writing other works. I can see how the student realm would despise of this application.
Movie Blog
Developing a concept for the movie assignment seemed to rather easy and interesting. The assignment was not difficult, although a little tedious. I rather enjoyed developing something from nothing and seeing the end result. This is something that I think that I will introduce to my 10-year old. It was fun and relaxing and it is something that I never knew existed on my very own desktop at home, but will play with more to create home movies/videos for my children to have to show their kids. This was of benefit and I enjoyed the assignment thoroughly.

Last Days Drama
I feel so overwhelmed with all of my classes. Of course I am behind in a number of classes and am trying to play catch up. I am having a more difficult time coming up with ideas than anything. Executing the assignments would be such a breeze if I could only come up with great ideas. The end is quickly approaching us and though I am ready for this to all be over, I don't think that I am READY. Ugh!

Web Tools
Tonight we looked at a variety of web tools, all of which seem to be very useful in different respects. Some were more fun than others, as well as more useful. I enjoyed the the RubiStar where you are able to develop a rubric. I also found the site project Based Learning very useful as an Elementary Education major. The site Test Maker site was extremely useful as a future educator, as well as a parent to use as a study tool. I enjoyed the classroom architect feature because I enjoy playing around with floor plans in general.

1. Marilyn realizes how important it is to keep student's learning styles in mind when planning instruction. What activities have you used to teach to the learning styles of your students? An oral report instead of a written one or creating a collage about the topic being studied may demonstrate knowledge and individual strengths. Also, hands-on instruction such as learning centers, math manipulative, science projects, art projects, and the use of computers.
2. Marilyn felt comfortable consulting Juanita's expertise. Do you have another teacher or instructional leader with whom you can collaborate? How would this type of collaboration help your instruction and benefit your students? It is essential to collaborate in order to address the increasing needs of diverse students. Not one single educator can know all that is necessary to effectively reach today's students, by pooling expertise and sharing different perspectives we can create new options that will further both professional and academic success.
3. How is Marilyn using graphic organizers to enhance the lesson? How will the use of graphic organizers help Oscar? For students with learning disabilities graphic organizers provide a visual representation of key ideas in text and the relationships among those ideas. Oscar can conceptualize key ideas, receive assisted learning materials in his classroom instruction which will aid in his reading comprehension.
4. A WebQuest was used to help students navigate the Eric Carle website. Reflect upon your experiences using the web for instruction. What difficulties have you encountered?WebQuest has been an interesting and useful tool and seems to be a beneficial asset to incorporate in the classroom setting. It has an exponential amount of components that are difficult to pick up at first use, which can be scary and complicated.
5. List and describe the benefits the students gained from being included in Oscar's small group.-Cooperative learning is most successful when there are group goals coupled with individual accountability-Achievement effects of cooperative learning have been positive for high-, average-, and low-achieving students across grade levels-Social effects of cooperative learning have been demonstrated in terms of improving self-esteem, intergroup relationships, acceptance of students with disabilities, and attitudes toward school
6. Do you think Oscar's experience would have been as powerful if he would have worked in isolation with Juanita? Why or why not? Students with disabilities partnered with group members ensures participation and support, thus the student with the disability is more likely to learn and make progress versus working alone or in isolation
7. Describe three ways in which Marilyn's use of technology addresses the needs of her class and allowed all students to participate in the lesson.-Enhances learning-Manipulates & controls environment-Better communicationallowing participation in the classroom by presenting information in another way, which allows them to demonstrate their learning in multiple ways
